Overview
Planning recovery carried through into a buildable residential proposal.
The project developed a new three-bedroom home on a constrained infill site with previous refusal and appeal history. The design responded directly to scale, neighbouring amenity, street character and the relationship between ridge and eaves heights.
STRINATI Design developed the planning strategy, site and contextual analysis, plans, elevations, sections and Design & Access Statement, then carried the architectural intent into coordinated technical information.
Design response
Continuity without imitation.
The proposal uses proportion, brickwork, horizontal banding and window placement to reinforce the established character of Oldfield Crescent without resorting to pastiche. Internal planning and first-floor openings were developed to make effective use of the site while limiting overlooking.
